Four unique fossils in Pokemon Sword and Shield as well as four unique combinations, because when combined you can create very interesting Pokemon; Dracovish, Dracozolt, Arctovish, and Arctozolt are the products of four Pokemon Sword and Shield fossil combinations, and that’s how you get them.
Pokemon Sword and Shield Fossils
There are four different fossils in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but if you’ve arrived at this guide, chances are you don’t know how to get them all. That’s because there are two fossils that are almost exclusive to Sword, and two more almost exclusive to Shield:
- The Fossilized bird (sword)
- Fossilized dino (sword)
- The Fossilized Drake (shield)
- Fossilized fish (shield)
What we mean by almost exclusive is that you can get the Bird & Dino fossils in Shield and the Drake & Fish fossils in Sword, but the chances of finding them are much, much slimmer. For a more reliable method of obtaining the fossils found in the alternate version of the game, you will need to trade with a friend and have the Pokemon contain the relevant fossils! Here are the four possible fossil combinations and the Pokémon you get as a result:
- The Fossilized bird + Dino: Arctozolt (electric / ice type)
- Fossilized dino + fish: Arctovish (water / ice type)
- A Fossilized Drake + Bird: Dracozolt (Electric / Dragon type)
- Fossilized Drake + Fish: Dracovish (water / dragon type)
How to get fossils in Pokemon Sword and Shield
In order to get fossils in the first place, there are two methods. First, you will be able to find a type of fossil lying on the ground near Cara Liss’ location on Route 6. Then, if you head inside the Stow-on-Side Pokémon Center just downstairs. off the road and you talk to a man inside, he’ll give you another type so you can return to Cara Liss and create your first Pokemon from fossils.
However, this source is obviously finished. So how do you get more Pokemon Sword and Shield fossils? For this you have to talk to the duo of digging in the wild area. These two brothers will be happy to do mining for you, if you pay them 500W. The rewards they find for you are completely random, but pay them to dig enough and you can find an endless source of fossils here.
